Congratulations to Australian Genomics Flagship leads Rick Leventer and Cas Simons (The Royal Children’s Hospital & Murdoch Children’s Research Institute), who together with Ernst Wolvetang (The University of Queensland), will lead a $3m genomic research consortium to “close the loop from genetic diagnosis to clinical treatment” for Leukodystrophies.
The Government’s funding announcement comes after the tireless advocacy efforts of Stephen & Sally Damiani of Mission Massimo Foundation, whose son Massimo, was diagnosed with a Leukodystrophy and passed away at age 9. The funding has been announced in Massimo’s honour.
