Summary
Australian Genomics continues to build evidence for scalable, sustainable and equitable genomic healthcare. By ensuring that government-funded genomic research studies successfully evaluate the health economic impact of their interventions – and consider health system implications by applying implementation science methodologies – we achieve improved impact and translation of research outcomes into practice.
It is also critical that genomic health implementation considers relevant ethical values and concepts at the level of both individuals and populations. Undertaking ethical research concurrently with implementation will ensure that genomics is appropriately and ethically integrated into the health system.
