The Primary Health Reform Steering Group developed 20 recommendations to guide further development of the Primary Health Reform Document and Implementation Plan. This work will address one part of the Government’s Long Term National Health Plan. The recommendations, which went out to public consultation, centred on areas including interoperability of data systems and person-centred health care. Australian Genomics’ submission drew attention to emerging evidence for the application of genomic technologies in preventative medicine, and the increasing role primary healthcare will have in delivering health genomics as the use of genomic technologies are increasingly mainstreamed.
